Banyuwangi : Sunrise of Java

Hello there, travelers! How are you doing so far? This time, i'm going to share another beauty of Java which is Banyuwangi.

Last 17-18th April 2015 at Cak Durasim Building, they organized event for Banyuwangi which is "Banyuwangi Sunrise of Java". There were exhibition about products and culinary from Banyuwangi and also there were events at stage which I'm going to show you all of them, so enjoy!

I came with my friends ad we thought that we were late half an hour but the event has just started. The first event was welcoming the regent of Banyuwangi to the stage and then they had the welcoming dance called "Hastungkara"
With purple tone costume they were awesome dancer
Another pictures while they were dancing

After the welcome dance, then the regent of Banyuwangi opened the event with some speech and honestly we didn't pay attention and decided to look around the stands that were opening there. And we accidentally came across the backstage and found out all the participants for that night event and decided to take some pictures with them, although we scared with their costumes but that's what made them unique.
With the "boss" of the Ginny that will be perfuming at "Legend of Gunung Tumpang Pitu"

We moved inside the building for better quality, but this time with one of the Ginny

After taking pictures, we moved to the stage and continue to watch the show. This time's Bedewang dance and this somehow blew my mind because they're maybe my age or younger than me.

The dancer, the beat of this music's pretty happy and fast beat

I finally managed to take the whole dancers because people were so crowded

Next one's different, a traditional song performing called "Isun Lare Osing". I thought it was some kinds of traditional dance again but then the singer came in and this one more like concert.
See the woman at the middle? She's the singer.

And finally we came to the main show that night which was the perfuming art of "Legend of Gunung Tumpang Pitu"

It was once been told that there's a mountain and people around it were living happy and peaceful but then suddenly, the Ginny came and kidnapped them one by one and disturbed people around that mountain.
Peaceful and happy women around the mountain

Suddenly, the Ginnies came and kidnapped them

They came to santri (students that learnt inner power that protect the village around mountain) and asked for their help.

Ginnies felt comfortable there and decided to stay and disturbed the village

But, the santri and their master came and reminded the Ginnies that they had to leave.

The angry Gynnies angry and the fight started between Santri and Gynnies

But Santri were more powerful and beat the Gynnies, but the Gynnies said they wouldn't disturb the village with some conditions and they had met the agreement.

End of story and the is all the casts that played but I couldn't get the clear one because people started to move outside the stage.

It ended pretty fast than the schedule and it was pretty impressive experiences to be there. Next month there will be another events at Cak Durasim so be sure to check it out, people. Until next time,

Let's get lost!

Nganjuk : Small city with big diversity cultures!

For me, traveling isn't only about the beauty of nature but also the diversity of cultures and how we embrace it into something that worth cultivated.

As today, I took deep down to one of the East Java provence, Nganjuk. At 13th-14th February 2015 in Cak Durasim buiding at Surabaya, were held the exhibition of Ngajuk provence such as art and also featured products including batik!

So here I am with the Banner!

For me, it felt so wasted if we came to that places only sight seeing without enjoying the real show at the stage and one of them that captured my attention's the traditional dance show that called "The Legend of Roro Kuning " .

Roro kuning, by now is one of the waterfall at Nganjuk provence. But why it's called Roro Kuning waterfall? Here's why the brought the dance to tell us.

Shortly, the score of the story told us that once there's one of the Daha/Doho castle's princess called Dewi Sekartaji that caught in a very strange sick that turned herself yellow and can't be healed by any medicine and then, she searched through help and were told by someone that she need to take a bath at this one waterfall every tuesday kliwon night. After she took bath there, she healed and went back to her Palace as one of the Kediri Princess. The name of the waterfall, where she took bath are now called Rara Kuning because Rara means Lady and  Kuning or yellow because of her strange disease that turned her into yellow.

One of my favorite part's that there're always an opening dance per scene at the show

From the right to left (the man who wanted to take Roro Kuning as his wife, Father of Roro Kuning, Roro Kuning's maid, Rara Kuning, Castle's guard)

All the cast of Roro Kuning Traditional Dance Show

And of course I can't miss the beautiful Batik made in Nganjuk so I grabbed 1 but my friend decided to bought one more. It's quite affordable only around Rp100.000 ++

Contact for the Producer only for your information!

Thank you, Nganjuk for sharing such a beautiful cultures as part of East Java. I would really love to visit them one day.

Weekuri Beach : Little Heaven at the Land of Sumba

I never felt what it is like to be in heaven but I the hidden beach seems close enough (if you loved beach so much).
Lucky me to be born at this beautiful small Island called Sumba Island, there's seems never enough to explore this island's beaches. One of the fairest of them all are the weekuri beach.

Taken by my brother before I went there. It's about 12-1 p.m.

Never heard, right? Surprisingly I never been there as well, not until last holiday.
Lots of my friends have been asking for the pictures of this beach cause they never believed when i said there’s beach inside the cliff beside the famous mexico beach at Marieta Island.

Went there wasn't as easy as I thought. The street's full of big and small holes, there's grass grew all around our sight and yeah.. the hardest one there's not road sign to be there.
You can only went there either by motorcycle or car with big wheel because of the road's condition , don't worry if you lost there. People in Sumba are nice to new comers and really "kepo" i could said. And don't feel awkward because they loved to watch you every second and minute from distance not because they want to make you scared, it's just their habit.

Arrived there, I couldn't stop taking pictures and tons of pictures. I've been wondering and dreaming what it's look like. Same or better than the mexico beach i talked about i should say.

I can't even describe that to you what it feels like.

Blue clear water like glasses, the silent sound  and of course the smell of beach air so refreshing and relaxing. (For your information it’s 3 p.m. afternoon)

Apparently, people called this lake but some of the local people still believe it's part of the beach and keep calling them beach.
Not just  beach inside the cliff some European tourists and local tourists can also enjoy the snorkeling experience with lots of coral reefs and small fishes. I also got information from local people that there's one home stay near there built by France tourists because they love the beach there.

Anyway it's swimming time! I just went into the water with my own swimming google and just start to snorkeling. I am type of person that love the silent underwater. Don’t you feel relaxed?
Inside there's small fishes and lots of coral reefs to enjoy, also it's safe for children because you can keep you eyes of them because the beach isn't too big but you have to remember to check the depth of the beach just in case.

The water’s a bit strange for me that i thought the water is contaminated with oils or other chemicals but it’s actually the mixed between salty beach water and the lake water also the temperature between the cold and warm water.
One more strange thing there, can you image being watched by 2 kids around you while diving? They actually watched you so that you’re not drowned and I honestly ashamed of them.

I don't know you can see or not but those small looking rock is a child

Can't believe they're best at swimming? Here's more photos for you

Local people around the beaches photo taken by my brother

Around this lake or beach, it’s a beautiful high cliff that shows the beach outside the lake and I can’t resist to take pictures and pictures.

Sunset at the cliff with silhouette

Here's what it looks like in light, a bit hard to climb but it's all worth it!

Best part here at the cliff is that you can watch the sunset clearly with the sound of waves at the beach. It's so nice to went at the Weekuri Beach and of course a perfect experience for me too. This is my small "heaven",what's yours?

Feels jealous? Come on! The beach's waiting for you! :)

Another important information :
