As today, I took deep down to one of the East Java provence, Nganjuk. At 13th-14th February 2015 in Cak Durasim buiding at Surabaya, were held the exhibition of Ngajuk provence such as art and also featured products including batik!
So here I am with the Banner!
Roro kuning, by now is one of the waterfall at Nganjuk provence. But why it's called Roro Kuning waterfall? Here's why the brought the dance to tell us.
Shortly, the score of the story told us that once there's one of the Daha/Doho castle's princess called Dewi Sekartaji that caught in a very strange sick that turned herself yellow and can't be healed by any medicine and then, she searched through help and were told by someone that she need to take a bath at this one waterfall every tuesday kliwon night. After she took bath there, she healed and went back to her Palace as one of the Kediri Princess. The name of the waterfall, where she took bath are now called Rara Kuning because Rara means Lady and Kuning or yellow because of her strange disease that turned her into yellow.
One of my favorite part's that there're always an opening dance per scene at the show
From the right to left (the man who wanted to take Roro Kuning as his wife, Father of Roro Kuning, Roro Kuning's maid, Rara Kuning, Castle's guard)
All the cast of Roro Kuning Traditional Dance Show
And of course I can't miss the beautiful Batik made in Nganjuk so I grabbed 1 but my friend decided to bought one more. It's quite affordable only around Rp100.000 ++
